will drive today's early hours. Charles is, dare I say, desperate to catch a fish. We will do everything we can to succeed today.
As is often the case in our less than thoroughly informed manner we choose to fish at 8:12am off the bridge between Cudjoe and Sugarloaf Keys without first checking either tide or current movement conditions. Yup.....you guessed right...... it's dead slack tide, zero current and absolutely the wrong time to fish....say some! A older guy at the other end of the bridge says " oh yea o yea.. slack tide .. best time to fish! Go figure .
So we fish some and then Bang !!! ....Gordon lands a 30" Hammerhead shark! Wasn't even holding or watching his rod. A passerby had to mention his pole was nearly bent in half!

Then after having various baits consumed without hooking anything ( did I mention Charles had to re-rig his line several times after hauling in a thirty pound hunk of coral?). we mossy down to Key West to watch the cruise ship tourists and hunt for a Monopoly game. Charles believes he WILL be successful with Monopoly.
Went to Kelley's Pub for lunch, Gazpacho and Margaritas, Then found the game at KMart and headed back to the bridge for the next slack tide.
Gordon's first cast (helped by the largely liquid lunch) ended up in the telephone wires paralleling the bridge. What a mess. Took forever to re-rig his pole. Good show G.
3pm - Charles still patiently (gurrrr) waiting for first fish. We finally quit at 4 (fishless) and head back to Big Pine for Monopoly!
Ended up on the deck with G&T's. Intended to have a nice Thai salad for dinner Charles whipped up but we threw it in the fridge and elected to have a third cocktail instead. We love dieting! Bailed on Monopoly in favor of watching the golf tournament.
Will tomorrow yield a monster Tarpon for Charles?.... stay tuned.......
