Wandering with purpose.....???

We had decided last evening that we would try fishing again. Not with a great deal of enthusiasm but we did need to try......harder and with a more positive intent.

So we will head northeast again thinking ......this time .....we'll conquer the elusive bridge snappers. Time 7:55am, party cloudy 74 degrees, lovely.

A quick stop for lattes and bagels. Time 8:25am.

As we approach the fishing area Gordon thinks to himself ..."as we're quit close to our favorite sportsman store, why not stop in and use the facilities before fishing". He suggests this to Charles who heartily agrees. Time 9:45am.

Now inside and relieved we both begin perusing merchandise. After four previous visits we are now like old friends to the cashiers and numerous floor sales associates. They each smile knowingly and ignore our renewed proddings of all things shiny and otherwise. Gordon notices a nice newly arrived lightweight photographers vest and shows it to Charles.. Charles tries it on and declares " this is just what I've been looking for" and promptly adds the purchase to his existing five photography vests collection! Time 10:25am.

Prying ourselves from the store after forty minutes Charles suggests we explore a bit further up the road to see if there are any fishing bridges we might have missed. Time 11:10am.

Having found no new enticing spots we turn around and head back to familiar territory.

As we re-approach the sportsman store we left an hour previously (did we mention there is a great restaurant attached?)
Gordon pulls in to the adjacent said restaurant knowing Charles eats by the clock and we're just past high noon. Charles is ecstatic. Time 12:10pm.

We enjoy another good meal and a modest libation. Charles is disappointed that whole deep-fried yellowtail snapper was not on the menu today.  Time 1:25pm.

We return to the road and as we come to the planned fishing bridge Charles suggests that perhaps reading or a nap might be a better choice this afternoon. Time 2:05pm.

So having accomplished nothing except driving 142 miles, adding an unneeded vest to Charles' collection and eating a mediocre meal we reach home around 3pm.

Feeling guilty we both take long walks.

No naps. No reading. Cigar time and 5pm are almost here. :-)

So goes this day in paradise.
