Surprise visit by a good friend made the visit even more special.
After the celebration off to Stonybrook NY for the night and then, due to horrible weather, a run to Kitty Hawk NC with no stops.
The following day the weather further derailed plans to visit the Wright brothers monument as we ran the full length of the outer banks to catch the Okracoke ferry to Cedar Island NC.
After a night in Morehead City NC we flew down to Hilton Head Island amidst tornado watches and more heavy rain. Will it ever end?
Fed up with the rain we bailed on exploring Charleston and Savannah in favor of what we hoped would be fairer weather in Florida.
Arriving in Port St. Lucie we were welcomed by a Florida cold snap that felt more like Cape Cod than Florida! Jeez!
Would our luck ever change?
We braved so so conditions here to capitalize on Tiger and others playing the first round of the Honda Classic in Palm Gardens on Thursday the 28th. Tiger had a bad day as did other top rated players.
We both enjoyed seeing a golf tournament up close but agreed that TV provides a much better overall viewing experience.
Drove all the way to Marathon Key the day following the tournament and played between Marathon and Key West for three days before our rental began. Our play included many excellent meals, some fun fishing from key bridges. and shopping for tropical ware neither of us needed but can a guy ever have enough great fishing shirts!
Gordon caught two nice Pompanos
( correction 3/13/2013 these are Crevalle Jacks - not good eating) from the Conch Key bridge and Charles caught nothing. Charles is NOT speaking to Gordon!
Took procession of the Big Pine rental on March 4th. The house is perfect. The weather finally turned good . Hallelujah !!!
